AI Governor SME edition is self-serve AI governance software that classifies every AI system you use, runs the AI risk assessment behind it, tells you which EU AI Act and UK AI regulation obligations apply, trains your team and exports an audit-ready readiness report. Built for the small businesses that use AI every day, not for lawyers.
If your business uses AI, whether that is a customer chatbot, a hiring or CV screening tool or a document assistant, you now carry real duties. In the EU, the AI Act treats you as a deployer, with obligations that scale by risk tier. In the UK there is no single AI Act. Instead, five cross-sectoral principles sit on top of existing law, including UK GDPR, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and the Equality Act 2010. Most SMEs cannot justify a compliance team or a consultant's day rate for AI Act readiness. AI Governor SME edition gives you the same structured answer for both markets, self-serve.
Pick the markets you operate in. For the EU AI Act, three plain-English questions give each AI system its risk tier: prohibited, high-risk, limited or minimal. For the UK, a principles and applicable-law check shows which duties apply. No legal background required.
A tailored checklist of what each regime asks of you, every line in language you can act on and referenced to its source, whether that is an EU AI Act Article or the relevant UK law or principle, so it stands up to scrutiny.

A coverage view shows which AI systems have been classified alongside a needs-classification queue, so as you add more AI tools, nothing quietly slips through.

Yes. The AI Act applies by role and by risk rather than by company size. If you use an AI system in the course of your business you are a deployer, and duties such as the Article 4 AI literacy requirement apply regardless of headcount. Some obligations are lighter for SMEs, but none of them disappear.
A deployer uses an AI system under its own authority, as opposed to a provider that develops or places one on the market. Most SMEs buying an off-the-shelf chatbot, CV screening tool or document assistant are deployers. The classification check in AI Governor confirms which role you hold for each system.
No. UK AI regulation runs through five cross-sectoral principles applied by existing regulators, on top of law that already binds you, principally UK GDPR, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and the Equality Act 2010. This page and the tool behind it cover both regimes so you do not have to track them separately.
A maintained AI inventory, a documented risk classification for each system, the obligations mapped against it with their status, and dated AI literacy records for your staff. AI Governor produces all four as an exportable readiness report.
Everything above: the EU and UK compliance check, your AI Act obligation checklist, readiness scores and evidence export, coverage view, AI literacy training and AI system inventory, sized for a small team. Tell us what you run and we will confirm scope, seats and setup for your organisation.
